After a two year hiatus from creating new music, Godsmack is back. They're getting ready to tour with their highly anticipated new album, "The Oracle", about to release. After wrapping up another successful tour with Motley Crue on the Cruefest II tour, Godsmack hit the studio to finish their new album. In the studio was a group of cameras filming their behind the scene antics. These antics are going to be broadcast across the web for you, the fans. We got in touch with director Dan Catullo to find out why it is he chose Godsmack and why now.

Why Godsmack?
They ARE ONE OF MY FAVORITE BANDS AND GOOD FRIENDS OF MINE. I ALSO FEEL THAT MOST PEOPLE DON'T KNOW THE "Real Godsmack" AND THEY ARE QUITE INTERESTING PEOPLE.

What's the theory behind the webisodes?
To GIVE THE VIEWER AND THEIR FANS A REAL INTIMATE BEHIND THE SCENES LOOK AT WHAT GOES DOWN IN THE RECORDING OF A MAJOR RECORD AND ALSO SEE WHAT THE GUYS ARE LIKE IN THEIR EVERYDAY LIVES. We DID NOT SUGAR COAT ANYTHING. What YOU SEE IS REAL.

How did this theory come about?
Sully and I HAVE ALWAYS TALKED ABOUT DOCUMENTING THEM MAKING A RECORD. During Crew Fest THIS SUMMER WE SAT DOWN A BUNCH OF TIMES AND BRAINSTORMED HOW WE COULD START SPREADING THE WORD TO THE FANS THAT THE BAND IS BACK AND ALSO BUILD MOMENTUM UP TO THE RECORD RELEASE. The BAND REALLY IS PROUD OF THIS RECORD AND WANTED TO SHARE THE EXPERIENCES THEY HAD RECORDING IT WITH THEIR FANS.

Why now?
We FELT THAT OVER THE COURSE OF 10 YEARS OF ME FILMING THE BAND WE HAVE DONE IT ALL; THE STADIUM SHOW, THE SMALL INITMATE ACOUSTIC PERFORMANCE, THE ARENA SHOW AND THE MINI-MOVIE. The ONLY THING WE HAVEN'T DONE WAS DOCUMENT THE RECORDING OF A RECORD. Quite FRANKLY IT WAS THE ONLY THING LEFT TO DO WITH THEM THAT WOULDN'T BE REPEATING HISTORY!

10 YEARS NOW.
